Redding police believe a woman was under the influence of alcohol Wednesday night when she crossed over the center-divide of Court Street and struck another car head-on.

The crash was reported at 8:19 p.m. on Court Street near Schley Avenue.

Police say Rusty Conlin, 34, of Redding, was driving a white Honda sedan southbound on Court Street while Famhang Saechao, 22, of Redding was driving a black BMW northbound on Court Street. As Saechao made the sweeping right turn where Schley Avenue meets Court Street, her car crossed over the double-yellow line and struck Conlin head-on.

Conlin was wearing a seatbelt, however Saechao was not. Both drivers were transported to Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries.

Redding police say Saechao displayed several signs of intoxication and was arrested for DUI causing injury.

Court Street was closed for approximately 30 minutes during the investigation.
