The Shasta County murder retrial of Mark Duenas continued today.
Much of this morning's testimony centered around the videotaped interviews between investigators and Duenas shortly after the murder of his wife Karen, who was found dead in her bedroom on May 5, 2012.
In one of the videos, the defendant expressed he was scared of his former mistress Annette Green's husband, and suggested he could be the one who killed Karen.
Duenas also admitted that his marriage was not the same after his telephone affair, but says he never harmed his wife.
The prosecution's lead investigator, Detective Logan Stonehouse, testified today that Duenas never cried at his home on the day of the murder or during subsequent interviews.
Prosecutors say the 53-year-old Duenas stabbed to death the mother of his five sons because he was unhappy with his marriage and stood to lose a lot financially if they divorced.
