SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The drought has many in California worried, but for a West Sacramento lawn painter, the water shortage has brought a boom in business.
KXTV reports that David Bartlett paints lawns green through his business Xtreme Green Grass and says he's taking more orders now than ever before.
Bartlett says he and his team can turn a lawn green in about an hour, using an all-natural dye that won't hurt people or pets.
He charges 25 cents per square foot, adding up to $250 for a 1,000 square foot yard.
It's less expensive than re-landscaping a yard with drought-friendly plants.
