Driver, horses survive after trailer detaches from truck near Paradise

Traffic on Clark Road, near the Paradise airport, was down to one lane Thursday afternoon due to a crash that happened just before 4 p.m.

California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a Toyota Tundra pickup was towing a horse trailer heading north when the trailer began to wobble and fishtail, causing the river to lose control. The truck crossed both lanes of traffic and slammed into an embankment.

The truck was separated from the trailer, but neither the driver nor the horses suffered major injuries.
