The Skyway, which serves as a four-lane express way between Paradise and Chico, has a reputation for speeding, but drivers traveling up and down the Skyway now have a new way to watch their speed.

The new installations are known as driver feedback signs and they are meant to get speeding drivers to slow down. The signs, which were recently installed and activated, are solar powered and on the eastbound lanes of the Skyway.

Almost all of the signs are now installed as part of a $1.4 million safety project, which also includes road striping, and rumble strips to alert drivers who may be drifting off the roadway.
