Drive by shooting injures teen in Oroville

A drive by shooting in Oroville Wednesday night left one teenager injured.

Butte County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a drive by shooting that occurred around 10 pm at 2478 D Street, in south Oroville.

Deputies say when they arrived they found the home was hit several times by gun fire. One round went through the home and hit a 15-year-old female in the lower leg while she was sleeping.

Investigators say her injuries were non-life threatening and the teen was transported to Oroville Medical Center for treatment.

Deputies say the home was hit seven times, and three round entered the home where several family members were sleeping.

The vehicle involved in the shooting was described as a small white sedan. No other information was provided.
