The 19th annual Downtown Chico Thursday Night Market kicks-off its 2015 season tonight.
Stephanie Yunker with the Downtown Chico Business Association says cleanliness and safety are a priority, and that private security and Chico Police are working to ensure it remains a safe and family friendly event.
Local Non profit organizations will be staging events in the plaza park during the market throughout the season, and there will be plenty of entertainment as well. It's a certified Farmer's Market which means that the State and County guarantee what you are buying is produced by the grower who's selling it.
Dogs are not permitted as per the public health code.
Broadway between 2nd and 5th streets and the 3rd and 4th side streets will close at 5 p.m. The Market runs from 6 - 9 p.m. through September ... rain or shine.
