The Tehama County man accused of killing his ex-wife and former father-in-law is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.

John Noonkester has been booked into the Tehama County Jail, where he is being held on $2 million bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on two murder charges Tuesday.

Noonkester is accused of opening fire at the Little Country Store, in the gated community of Lake California in Cottonwood. He allegedly killed his ex-wife Kimberlee Thomas, 29, and her 53-year-year-old father Keith Thomas.

Autopsies on both victims are scheduled for later this week.

Court records show the couple had been divorced in March, and were in the midst of a child custody dispute.

A third victim was shot in the back, and has since been released from the hospital.
