Although the "Valley Fire" is burning more than 100 miles away, residents right here in the North State are doing their part to help others.
A Magalia woman has started a food and clothing drive for victims of the fire. The "drop-off" location is at True Value Hardware in Magalia. If you drive by the store front, you can already see donations piling up. Champagne Griffith says it's her way of paying it forward.
If you would like to donate money to relief efforts, Tri Counties Bank has started a "Valley Fire Relief Fund" account with an initial deposit of $10,000 to benefit victims of the fire.
Funds will be distributed to people in need through local non-profit emergency relief agencies.
