LOS ANGELES (AP) - Hollywood's lack of diversity and other causes kept pace with the glitz of the annual Academy Awards show last night.

Other causes trumpeted included global warming, bank reform and sexual abuse in church and on campus.

Best picture turned out to be an underdog, "Spotlight," about the Boston Globe's reporting on priest sex abuse. Leonardo DiCaprio won best actor for "The Revenant." Brie Larson took best actress for her breakout performance in the mother-son captive drama "Room."
