District Attorney Mike Ramsey will share the findings of what happened during the Chico officer involved shooting which killed one man in November.

Following the incident on Nov. 10th, Ramsey released a photo of the gun found underneath armed robbery suspect Eddie Gabriel Sanchez Jr. Ramsey says detectives found the Bersa .380 caliber gun cocked and with the safety off.

Officials say Sanchez, 34, walked out of a house on Pomona Avenue and began approaching officers. Sanchez allegedly aimed his gun at Detective Mark Bass, who then fired at least three shots, two of which struck Sanchez in the head. Ramsey said Friday that the third round strayed into a nearby home.

Sanchez was under investigation in connection with a string of armed robberies at Chico convenience stores. Bass has been placed on paid administrative leave.

The investigation has been done by the Butte County Officer Involved Shooting / Critical Incident Protocol Team.

The D.A. will announce details Tuesday 3 p.m. at the Old Municipal Building.
