A formal complaint against Shasta High School head football coach Aaron Gingery has been filed with Shasta County District's Attorney.

The district attorney's office confirmed Tuesday that they received a complaint involving Gingery, who was suspended as Shasta High School's head coach indefinitely last Tuesday.

The district attorney's office says they will be reviewing the case and will make a determination about whether or not they should file charges. The DA's office would not address the specific allegations against Gingery or the amount of victims involved.

On Tuesday morning a concerned parent told Action News Now that their son plays on the Shasta High School team. The parent accused Gingery of physically abusing multiple players, kicking at least one of them in the groin.

The parent also told Action News Now the alleged abuse was witnessed by other coaches who did nothing to stop or report it.

When asked if they were considering suspending or taking disciplinary action against any other Shasta High School coaches, school administrators declined to comment.
