A storm packing hurricane strength winds has snapped trees and dumped rain all over the North State and some local dispatchers have been inundated with weather related incidents.

On Friday morning the Plumas County Sheriff's Office received over 70 calls for service and additional dispatchers had to be brought in.

Significant damage has been reported throughout Plumas County; several roofs have been lost, a travel trailer blew over in the Indian Valley area and a significant amount of trees have been knocked down, some of which fell onto houses in Quincy.

Residents are encouraged to shelter in place and contact their local power company for information as to when power may be restored.
