Diesel fuel spills onto roadway after vehicle collision on SR 299

Caltrans District 2 has reported a vehicle collision on SR 299 in Shasta County has resulted in diesel fuel spilling onto the roadway at Big Bend Road.

According to CHP a loaded logging truck collided with an empty flatbed truck around 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.

The ruptured diesel tank can hold between 100 and 150 gallons of fuel, but the exact amount of fuel spilled is unknown at this time.

Fire crews are reportedly trying to dam the fuel, according to CHP’s Incident Report Website.

CHP has not issued any Sig Alerts or detours. There have also been no confirmed reports of injuries
