Chico developer Bud Tracy says the fate of downtown Oroville will continue its comeback by bringing back the city's historic inn.
This week, Tracy finalized his purchase of the Oroville Inn with hopes of transforming the 84-year-old building within the next year.
He says the $3 million dollar project will be a three-phase process, which starts with a $400,000 facelift.
The building's ground floor will include a restored ballroom and retail spaces for lease, while the building's towers will house men from nearby Northwest Lineman College.
Tracy says he's doing this out of passion to keep this iconic building (51,000 square feet), and its stories, alive.
"If this building is done, everybody will notice all the other things," said Tracy. "So this is really a key to the true renovation of downtown Oroville."
