LOS ANGELES (AP) - Designer Christian Audigier, who was born in France but gained fame and fortune in the United States with his tattoo-inspired, street-wise designs for the Ed Hardy and Von Dutch brands, has died. He was 57.
Laura Coverson of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles says Audigier died at the hospital Friday morning.
His former publicist, Michele Elyzabeth, says he had cancer.
Besides his colorful designs, Audizier was also known for his friendships with celebrities, including Michael Jackson and the French singer Johnny Hallyday.
Justin Timberlake, Madonna and many others sported the brands for which he worked.
