Trinity County responders found a large commercial marijuana grow and several butane canisters near where the 128 acre Democrat Fire started earlier this week.

Sheriff’s Officials say that while they were investigating the fire and pot grow, Cindee Dunkelberger drove onto the private property in what deputies learned was a butane honey oil lab on wheels. She was arrested on the scene and eventually told investigators she and boyfriend Kevin Perrine had been growing pot in the area.

Perrine was arrested at a Weaverville hotel later that day. Both are facing charges connected to the marijuana grow and Perrine is also facing a charge for allegedly illegally killing a deer near the grow site.

The actual cause of the fire is under investigation.
