Dense Fog Has Blanketed The North State Overnight

Feb 19, 2015 9:34 AM by Cort Klopping

Dense fog has developed across the region overnight, with most areas of the valley reporting around a quarter of a mile of visibility. The fog will clear throughout the day, and mostly sunny skies will return for the afternoon. Temperatures have dropped into the mid 40's to low 50's for the valley, low to mid 40's for the foothills, and high 20's to high 30's in the mountains overnight. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to be very close to Wednesday's, with mid 60's to low 70's in the valley, and low to mid 60's in the higher elevations. Winds are projected to be light.

Dry weather will persist through your extended forecast, with a small drop in temperatures expected on Saturday. The cooling trend will be very short lived, and temperatures will warm back into the mid to high 60's by Monday. There will be a slight chance of light showers returning to the Sierra on Saturday night, and that chance will last through Sunday. I hope everyone stays safe on the foggy roads this morning, and has a great Thursday!
