Dense Fog & Warmer Temperatures In Your Monday Forecast

Jan 19, 2015 9:40 AM by Cort Klopping

Very dense fog has developed in many parts of the north state this morning. Visibility has been limited to a quarter mile in many parts of the valley. Temperatures are starting out in the mid 40's to low 50's in the valley, high 40's to low 50's in the foothills, and high 30's to mid 40's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures will climb into the high 50's to mid 60's for the valley, and into the mid 40's to mid 50's for the mountains. Skies will clear throughout the day, and should be mostly sunny by late afternoon. Today's winds will be up to 10mph out of the North.

The clearing skies, and above average temperatures will continue to dominate the north state all week. There will be low to mid 60's through Thursday in the valley, before mid to high 60's return on Friday. There is the potential for record breaking heat this weekend, with most valley areas projected to climb into the 70's. Redding is currently projected to have a high of 78 degrees on Sunday, which would decimate the current record of 73 degrees.

I hope everyone stays safe on the foggy roads this morning, and has a marvelous Monday!
