Defense Rests in Duenas Trial

After just two hours, the defense has rested its case in the Mark Duenas murder trial. Closing arguments in the case are expected to begin tomorrow.

During today's hearing the defense called Duenas' son Jacob to the stand as well as several neighbors. Duenas is accused of killing his wife Karen, A mother of five and former educator at Shasta College. She was found stabbed to death in her bedroom last May.

The prosecution spent six days making their case that Duenas killed his wife because of conflicts over an alleged affair. We’ll have more on today's testimony tonight on action news now at 5 and 6 p.m.
