Cal Fire indicated significant progress was made last night by all divisions on the fire which began last Friday afternoon. Crews have increased containment to 75%.
Access to the 10,378 acre fire was initially impeded by steep terrain, but shuttling crews by air into and out of the remote area via California National Guard helicopters has helped the 1,308 current personnel gain an advantage. Cal Fire also stated hand lines continued to be improved along the Lassen Trail and into the mill Creek Drainage. The threat to power lines in the area 10-12 miles east of los Molinos have been largely mitigated.
Three injuries have been reported, but none are considered serious. Cal Fire anticipates full containment of the fire by Thursday, the cause of which is still under investigation.
