DAVIS, Calif. (AP) - The chancellor of the University of California, Davis says someone sprayed painted two large swastikas onto an off-campus Jewish fraternity house.

Linda P.B. Katehi called the graffiti "despicable and hateful" in a statement Saturday, and said she has requested that the police investigate the act of vandalism as a hate crime.

The vice president of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity told the Sacramento Bee (http://bit.ly/1ExnemT) the vandalism occurred early Saturday. He said the action threatens to rekindle race tensions at UC Davis.
