Two Redding women have been arrested on suspicion of elder abuse, after the death of a 90-year-old family member.

Redding police were called to a home on Tidmore Lane late Thursday night and when they arrived they were told 90-year-old Dorothy Havens had been transported to Mercy Medical Center with breathing problems. Fire fighters told investigators they suspected neglect was a factor in Haven's medical condition.

Havens died at Mercy Medical Center just after 8 a.m. Friday.

Investigators learned Dorothy Havens had been bedridden since November 2014. She had feces all over her body and wounds with fly larva in them.

Investigators learned Havens was being cared for by her daughter Kathryn Jena Havens and her granddaughter Amanda Havens. Both were arrested Friday morning for elder abuse that led to death.
