Oroville Hospital is finally confirming staffing cutbacks. Action News viewers contacted our newsroom about possible layoffs and cutbacks at the hospital last week. Today, Jessica Montoya, Director of Human Resources at Oroville Hospital, confirmed the hospital is looking for opportunities to become more efficient and continually making changes to, quote, "Meet the challenges of health care and patient care." Montoya went on to say the hospital is stream lining the process and operations. As far as specifics, there are currently 1400 employees at the hospital and approximately 3.5 percent of those employees, or about 50 workers may be affected. Some positions will be eliminated or re-classified or duties will be combined. Hospital administrators are looking at all departments inside the hospital.
