The Chico Unified School District will be presenting a plan tonight that could mean merging Citrus Elementary with Loma Vista School. District officials say Loma Vista, which houses roughly 100 pre-school students and special needs children, has outgrown its facilities and will soon need to move locations. CUSD officials say they're looking at at least a dozen possible options. One would be to send Loma Vista's students to several other schools. Another option is to move all of the pre-school's students to Citrus Elementary, meaning district lines would have to be redrawn and the students at Citrus would be shifted to three different schools. Those campuses include: Emma Wilson, Neal Dow, and Chapman Elementary. Tonight's school board meeting will start at 6 p.m. in the Williams Theater at Chico High School.
