After months of negotiations and threats of a strike, the Chico Unified School District now has a new contract with teachers
In a meeting last night, the board of trustees unanimously approved a tentative agreement between the school district and Chico Unified Teachers Association.
The teachers voted Monday night to ratify the agreement with a 60% approval.
The new contract will give teachers a 3% pay raise for the current school year and a 6% raise in 2016.
There will also be benefit increases, and agreements such as bringing kindergarten classes to a full day and changes in some stipend structures.
