BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - Aly Ahmed had 19 points and 10 rebounds, including two free throws with 3.6 seconds left, to help Cal State Bakersfield upset California 55-52 on Sunday night.
The Roadrunners (3-10) led by as many as 17 and overcame a late offensive slump when they made only one basket over the final 10 minutes. They offset that by going 10-for-12 on free throws down the stretch.
Jaylin Airington added 10 points for CSU Bakersfield, which had to delay its celebration as officials reviewed the final play to determine if Cal had successfully stolen the ball on an inbounds play with 0.9 seconds remaining.
Tyrone Wallace had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Bears (10-3). David Kravish added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Cal, which has lost two straight following a seven-game winning streak.
