"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" opens nationwide Thursday night. The film picks up 30 years after 1983's "Return of the Jedi,” blending original characters with new ones to battle the dark side of "the force."

Film critic Forrest Hartman gives the film 4 out of 5 stars.

Hartman says fans will be pleased with the movie, but said no movie could live up to this level of hype.

More than $100 million advance tickets were sold and the film is expected to rake in between $150 and $200 million in the U.S. alone by Monday. Disney already announced several sequels and spin-offs to the film ahead of its release.
