Crews Work to Make Chico a Cleaner Place

Oct 24, 2013 7:15 PM

Chico is cleaner and safer tonight thanks to crews from the Chico Parks Division and Sheriff's Work Alternative Program. The group went to twenty different encampments today and collected the remaining trash. More than 3 tons of trash has been collected from the illegal encampments throughout Chico. Crews say people tend to leave everything behind. These illegal encampments also pose a huge risk to the environment. The Senior Park Ranger says the majority of encampments are located at Comanche Creek and the Lindo Channel. Crews will be cleaning Comanche Creek in Chico this Saturday for Make a Difference Day.
