A single-car crash damaged a power-pole and knocked out power to more than a thousand Anderson residents Monday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 1 p.m. Monday when the driver of a black Dodge sedan crashed into a power pole near Olinda Road and Chestnut Street.

PG&E officials say power to more than 1300 customers was knocked out, but crews had service fully restored by 2:15 p.m.

The CHP says the driver of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital with major injuries, no other injuries were reported.
