Market Street was shut down in downtown Redding on Thursday morning for the biggest outdoor breakfast event of the year.
"This is our annual big breakfast for Rodeo Week. We'll serve 11,000 of your best friends," said Asphalt Cowboy member Barry Weissbasser.
Setup starts in the early hours of the morning. By the time the breakfast kicks off at 5 AM, the Cowboys are armed and ready to go.
Through the event, the Cowboys serve up over 30,000 pancakes and 10,000 sausage patties for all of the hungry people coming through.
For many, this breakfast is an annual can't-be-missed tradition.
This year, Earnie Dwinell brought with him a group of fifteen friends--all between the ages of 82 and 97.
"It's not easy for some of them to get up at six in the morning to come down, but we get down early so that we can get good seats and good pancakes,” said Dwinell.
Ticket sales from the breakfast go towards free events that the Asphalt Cowboys put on during Rodeo Week.
This year marks the 60th year of the pancake breakfast, and every year it just keeps growing.
