It promises to be a musical celebration of Americana ... an evening of Country, Bluegrass and Gospel. And it's coming to Tehama County just in time for Red Bluff Round-Up week.
Ed Baker has organized the "Pure Country, Plus" concert for Thursday, April 17th at the Corning Memorial Hall.
It will include performances by Northern California Blue Grass band "Rock Ridge" ...
"The Skillman family" of Red Bluff and "EddyB" with "Pure Country Plus" featuring special guest, Matthew Songmaker ... a young fiddler and songwriter.
Baker tells Action News Now he hopes to see plenty of young people, as it's a "family friendly" event. He says this type of music represents the roots of American music today, "I want to work with the schools in Corning to get the young kids exposed to this because that is where our roots are and if it's not carried on we'll lose it ... like we do everything else that we don't pursue."
The concert starts at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. $5 for students. They can be purchased in advance at old Fiends café on Solano Street in Corning. The café will also cater the event, with food for sale from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
