A Cottonwood family got a shocking surprise Saturday evening. Their 60 pound water pressure tank exploded into the air eight feet high and out the roof of their pump house. At first they had no idea what had happened then they found a hole in the roof of their pump house. Michelle Thomas says she had plans on hosting 25 family members for Easter but now since they don't have water she doesn't know how they will pull it off. Even though they won't have running water she says they won't let it stop them from celebrating a happy Easter with their family.
They still have no idea how the water pressure tank exploded. The well company won't be able to assess the damage until Monday. They suspect it will be well over $3,000 to fix.
