Corning Police K9 apprehends suspect after vehicle pursuit

A fleeing suspect had a bit of a ruff time when he was apprehended by K9 units after a short vehicle chase Sunday afternoon in Corning, the Corning Police Department reported.

Corbette Wilson, 32, was allegedly seen running a stop sign when an officer tried to pull him over. The suspect refused to stop and the pursuit in the Corning city limits and eventually out in to Tehama County.

Police said the suspect reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, running stop signs and swerving in and out of traffic. The suspect eventually crashed the vehicle into a ditch where he was apprehended by a K9 unit.

The suspect was booked into the Tehama County jail in felony evading and drug possession after a small quantity of meth was found in the vehicle.
