Monday was another seasonably hot day around the North State, with Valley highs mostly in the 90's (Redding hit 100). We won't see much change in temperatures Tuesday, but high pressure will break down later this week which will lead to a nice cooldown to finish off the week.
Low pressure off the North Coast was responsible for triggering a few afternoon thunderstorms in Trinity & Siskiyou counties. These storms will diminish after sunset, but will redevelop Tuesday afternoon as low pressure will still be nearby. By Wednesday, this upper low will slide into southern California, taking the instability with it... meaning no more mountain thunderstorms. This will also weaken high pressure, allowing our temperatures to cool down to finish off the week.
High pressure will rebuild this weekend, leading to a warm up for Saturday & Sunday.
