Tuesday was another scorcher around the North State! The cooling trend will start tomorrow, and look for much nicer weather by this weekend.
High pressure remains strong over California, and that sent Valley highs into the 90's again on Tuesday (with a few spots in the upper 90's!). A disturbance to our south will sneak northward over the next few days. That will break high pressure down a bit and bring in some high clouds. Those clouds may spark a few showers in the Sierra Nevada south of Lake Tahoe, but nothing in our area. But that low will begin to drop our temperatures. Another very weak storm (this one from the north Pacific) will move in on Saturday, cooling us down even more. It'll bring mostly cloudy skies to everyone, but it now looks like the showers will stay in the mountains (which is good news for the Chico Parade of Lights Saturday night!).
Skies should clear Sunday, and we'll see a little bit of a north breeze. Temperatures will warm back up, but nothing like this week.
El Niño is still looking strong, and I still believe we're in for a warm and wet winter.
