Cooler temperatures, breezy winds, and the potential for some active weather are ahead in your Monday Farmcast. Temperatures are starting out in the mid 50's to low 60's this morning in the valley, and are projected to climb into the mid 70's to low 80's. Winds are expected to be out of the South from around 15 to 20mph. There will be a slight chance for showers, and even possible thunderstorms in the northern end of the valley throughout the day, but the better chance will be ahead for this afternoon. We have already been tracking thunderstorms through parts of Shasta County early this morning. There has not been any measureable precipitation in the north valley so far, but the chance for active weather will extend over the next several afternoons there. Humidity values will stay above 50 percent today, and will be a little higher to the North. Your Monday morning sunrise is set for 5:57am, and sunset will be at 8:11pm.
Temperatures will continue to cool down on Tuesday, and will stay cooler for the better part of this week. Clouds will fluctuate between partly to mostly cloudy, and the chance for active weather for the northern end of the valley will continue over the next several days. There will be a slight chance for some of those active conditions heading through the entire region towards the latter part of the week.
