Cooldown starts Wednesday

Mostly sunny and hot again around the North State today... but cooler (and eventually wetter) weather is coming!

The Valley once again saw highs in the upper 80's today, but that's about to change. A weak storm in the Pacific is heading our way tomorrow, and while it won't bring rain... it will weaken high pressure enough to cool us down nicely tomorrow and Thursday, along with partly cloudy skies.

A stronger storm will arrive on Friday, with around 1/4" of rain for the Valley. Strong upper level low pressure will be unstable, and could generate a few thunderstorms in the Valley. South winds will gust 20 to 25 mph, and it will be much cooler.

We'll dry out Saturday (good news for the Gold Nugget Days parade in Paradise!), and it should be mostly cloudy. A weaker storm may bring a scattered shower or two on Sunday, but it won't be much.

Next week is looking cool and unsettled as well. It'll be a break from the heat we saw today!
