It was a cool and cloudy Wednesday across the North State. The clouds will stick around tomorrow, with even a few showers!
Low pressure continues to creep closer to northern California from the Pacific, and continues to pump moisture into northern California. This low will come inland Thursday. As it interacts with all this moisture it's pushed inland, look for rain in the Sierra Nevada! The moisture will taper off as you get into the Sacramento Valley, but a few showers are possible... just not much. But the Sierra looks to get a good soaking, perhaps 1/2" of rain!
The storm will push east Friday, and with the help of a breezy (10 to 25 mph) north wind, Valley highs will warm to near 90. But it's possible that's the last time we see 90 degree temperatures until next Spring, as yet another disturbance will move into northern California this weekend. This new low will drop south from Washington, cooling us back down on Saturday, then clouding us up on Sunday... although it doesn't look like much of a rainmaker.
Longer range models are indicating yet another system will impact us late next week, although yet again with only light rain (if not just a few showers). But it's still a positive sign... October is starting off active!
