Friday was a beautiful, Fall-like day around the North State! We'll do that again Saturday, then it warms back up to late Summer temperatures by Sunday and next week.
Unusually strong (for late Summer) low pressure rotated into Oregon and far northern California on Friday, cooling us down to well below average temperatures! It also sparked a few showers in the Siskiyous and Cascades. This low will slide east Saturday, taking the showers with it... but the cool air will take a day to moderate. So expect another cool (for September) day coming up Saturday! If you're heading to the mountains to do some camping this Labor Day Weekend, both Friday night and Saturday night will be chilly for early September! Dress warm for those nights. A breezy north wind will develop in the Valley Saturday, gusting 10 to 25 mph near I-5, with lighter winds near Hwy 99 south of Red Bluff.
High pressure will quickly rebuild, and that will warm us up fast. Valley highs will return to the 90's by Sunday, and stay there next week. But if you like the cooler weather, you'll enjoy tomorrow!
