FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - The Army psychiatrist convicted of the Fort Hood shootings that killed 13 people is still refusing legal help, even as the sentencing phase of his trial begins. It could end with a sentence of death for Maj. Nidal Hasan.

He was convicted last week by a military jury of the deadliest mass shooting ever on a U.S. military installation. The same jury will decide whether he's executed or spends life in prison.
