The Chuck Taylor, one of the most popular sneakers in American culture, just got an upgrade for consumers.
Converse unveiled a new version of the 98 year old shoe today. It has the same classic exterior, but a new, modern and cushioned footbed engineered by Converse's parent company, Nike. It's called the Chuck Taylor All Star II.
The shoe weighs less than the current Chuck Taylor and features an insole with the Lunarlon technology that's available in many of Nike's athletic and casual sneakers, making it more comfortable, but if you're feeling vintage, don't worry, converse will continue to make the classic Chuck Taylor.
The new version will be available Tuesday July 28 with high and low top models in four colors.
