The amount of campaign contributions for the seven candidates trying to win three open seats on the Chico City Council will likely not reach the lofty levels of the last election two years ago.

Ten candidates raised more than $200,000 in 2012. This year the total contributions total $98,000, with only four weeks until Election Day.

The most recent campaign finance filing shows local businessman Andrew Coolidge having raised the most at around $28,000. Reanette Fillmer has hauled in the second most, with more than $23,000.

Mayor Scott Gruendl has raised less than $11,000, significantly less than the $27,000 he had raised by the early October filing deadline for his campaign four years ago.
