High clouds from the Pacific streamed into the North State today due to high pressure finally weakening. The combination of both clouds and weaker high pressure lead to cooler temperatures... but won't bring us any rain through the weekend. Look for our high temperatures to continue to cool, however, and the clouds to thicken a bit this weekend.
Enough moisture will arrive by Monday to lead to a few scattered showers around the North State. Any rain we see will be very light. The sun will return later next week.
Long range models continue to indicate high pressure weakening by the following weekend, and the storm door opening back up for an extended period of time. This is still a ways out, but models have been very consistent with this trend, so it's becoming fairly believable. It's looking like the second half of January will be wetter than the first.
