The Chico man suspected of driving drunk in an early morning October first crash that claimed one life briefly appeared in court Thursday morning.

Andrew Reenan, 21, was expected to enter a plea but his attorney, Robert Marshall, requested a continuation, which Judge Michael Deems granted.

Reenan is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence causing injury for the crash on 20th Street that killed Haley McMahan, 19, of Chico, and critically injured Tyler Burns, 19, also of Chico.

Burns remains hospitalized at Enloe Medical Center. Hospital staff will not comment on his condition.

Reenan remains in custody while he awaits his next court appearance set for October 29, 2015.
