Shasta County Supervisor Leonard Moty will be sponsoring a community meeting September 17 at the Igo-Ono Community Church. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and the church is located at 6287 Placer Road in Igo.
Officials from the county’s public works, resource management, assessor-recorder, sheriff and county fire will present information to assist in stream-lining building permit applications, costs, and available programs to assist in recovering from the Clover Fire.
The press release sent out but the board of supervisors also stated representatives from the state legislator will also be in attendance as well as members from PG&E, American Red Cross, Salvation Army and California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Ministries. All non-profit agencies are also invited to share information about services they can offer citizens affected by the Clover Fire.

Firefighters continue to gain ground on the Clover Fire burning in Shasta County. Containment on the fire is now at 80%. Thursday, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko declared a state of emergency as the number of homes destroyed in the blaze jumped to 68. The fire, burning about 10 miles southwest of Redding in the Happy Valley area, has also destroyed 128 outbuildings and left one man dead. The blaze has burned more than 8,000 acres & full containment is expected Sunday. Mandatory evacuations are still in place for areas close to the fire. Clear Creek Road, Cloverdale Road & Lowers Gas Point Road have been reopened.
