CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) - Today, a Colorado judge formally sentences movie theater shooter James Holmes to life in prison without parole.

Holmes killed 12 people and wounded dozens of others when in July 2012 he opened fire in the packed theater in suburban Denver.

Eleven jurors wanted to give Holmes the death penalty. One voted for life without parole.
