The Tehama County Sheriff’s Department has announced that a Colorado man has been arrested for molesting a Tehama County girl over a seven year period.

Mervin Edy Wolf, age 61, of Englewood, Colorado, was arrested and charged with travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and production of child pornography.

Wolf moved to Englewood, Colorado with his wife sometime after 1999, but visited relatives regularly in California.

Beginning around September of 2007, Wolf began producing pornographic photographs of a minor who lived in the home of California relatives. Over the next seven years Wolf and his wife would travel to California to visit the same relatives, sometimes up to three times a year. During each of these trips Wolf would force the child to perform and participate in sexual acts which Wolf would photograph and or video tape.

When the child learned that Wolf was planning to visit California in June 2014, she made the decision to disclose the abuse. The minor said she decided to report the abuse because she was beginning to fear her younger sister would also be abused.

After the victim came forward, other family members came forward and reported abuse as well.

On March 5, 2014, a federal search warrant was executed at Wolf’s Colorado home in Englewood, Colorado. Shortly before the execution of the search warrant, the minor child contacted Wolf on his cell phone at the direction of the investigating agency in California and the call was recorded. During the call, Wolf confirmed the relationship with the child as wells as the production of pictures and videos of sex acts with the child.

If convicted of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, Wolf faces 30 years to life in federal prison, as well as up to a $250,000 fine. If he is convicted of production of child pornography, Wolf faces 15 years to 30 years in federal prison, as well as up to a $250,000 fine.
