Another windy morning is ahead in your New Years Eve forecast. Valley winds will be gusting to 40mph out of the North, with sustained winds to around 20mph. Mountain areas could see sustained winds out of the Northeast to 20mph, and gusts could top 45mph. Winds will be strongest after sunrise, but should taper off this afternoon. A Wind Advisory is currently in place until noon.
Temperatures are starting out in the 31 to 39 degree range for the valley, and are projected to climb into the low to mid 50's this afternoon. Mountain areas have dipped into the high teens to low 20's, and will range from the high 20's to mid 40's later on today. The frigid overnight low temperatures will continue to prompt a Frost Advisory through Friday, so keep those jackets close. Warmer conditions will return for the weekend. Unfortunately, the outlook remains dry for the first week of 2015.
I hope everyone stays safe in the windy weather this morning, stays warm with the cold conditions out there, and has a wonderful Wednesday on this New Years Eve!
