More clouds, cooler temperatures, and the potential for showers are all ahead for the valley in your Tuesday Farmcast. Some light showers are being observed in Shasta County this morning, but the bulk of the wet weather will be expected to fall in higher elevations today. The best chance for active weather will stay in the areas closer to the Oregon border today, and tomorrow. Temperatures are starting out in the low to mid 50's for the valley, and are expected to climb into the low to mid 70's this afternoon. Winds will be up to 10mph out of the Northwest for the northern end of the valley, and out of the Southeast to 10mph in the mid valley. Humidity values will stay above 50 percent this afternoon. Your Tuesday morning sunrise is set for 5:56am, and sunset will be at 8:12pm.
A better chance for widespread active weather will be ahead for your mid to late week forecast. A more potent system will arrive on Wednesday night, and will last into the start of the weekend. Valley showers, and thunderstorms will both be possible during that time. The best chance for that activity will be in the afternoons, and evenings. Temperatures are expected to stay in the high 60's to mid 70's through the end of the week.
